Cycle the WAVE

Our largest fundraising event in 8 years has galvanized the support of thousands of riders, hundreds of community volunteers, numerous business sponsors and raised over $1,000,000. Since its inception in 2008, WAVE has donated over $690,000 to 17 different agencies representing 12 different counties in the State of Washington. The 9th annual Cycle the WAVE 2016 will be held Sunday, September 18th at Bellevue College.

Lake to Lake Family Bike Ride   The City of Bellevue offers this annual family friendly bike ride in June at Lake Hills Community Park.  Register online here or day of event at 8 a.m. Ride begins at 9 a.m.  Two routes available: a nine mile, mostly flat greenbelt loop and a more challenging and hilly 22 lake loop. The rides have about 20% off road gravel and 80% paved roads. Cycle the WAVE is a partner with Lake to Lake. We recommend bikes with fatter tires to accommodate the gravel areas. A fun look into Bellevue’s beautiful park areas that you don’t see otherwise! Pre-registration is $15 which is a steal of a good time!  Day of registration increases to $20.

PATH The WAVE Foundation supports the movement to end trafficking of humans through the organization Seattle Against Slavery (SAS) and its cycling event, PATH (Pedal Against Trafficking Humans). The event is a local grassroots effort. The 4th annual PATH ride will be held on March 26, 2016 at Seward Park.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes   October 10, 2015 at 11:30am in the Quad. The University of Washington Alpha Chi Omega Rho Chapter hosts this men’s march against domestic violence in which men literally walk a mile in high heels. This is a family friendly event only 1 mile long around the beautiful UW campus. Proceeds will benefit The WAVE Foundation. Donations welcome of cash and of high heels sizes 9 and above. There are never enough heels available for all the men who want to participate!
