Cycle the WAVE (Women Against Violence Everywhere), is a fully supported, non-competitive, all-women’s cycling event. It is a venue created for women of all ages and fitness levels to experience camaraderie, increase awareness of domestic violence through visibility and to raise funds for domestic violence programs across Washington State.
The first ride in 2008 generated 233 riders and by 2013 participation had grown to 1,206 women riders of all ages. In 2015, we anticipate hosting a record crowd of women cyclists! And thanks to our riders, volunteers and supporters, the event has raised over $800,000 since 2008. This money goes directly back into Domestic Violence related agencies and non-profits.
Riders say this is one of the best supported rides in the State. We offer four great routes and amazing themed rest stops featuring quality food & beverages. This years sponsors include Starbucks, Tutta Bella, Essential Bakery, PCC, Flat Iron Grill, Evolution Fresh, Sol Stone Winery, Postdoc Brewing, Krave Jerky and Great Harvest Breads. Have you heard about the legendary “Hot Tamale” rest stop sponsored by the Issaquah firefighters?
All routes culminate at the fantastic Finish line reception…Revel and delight yourself with the special touches that make Cycle the WAVE so unique- Signature foods, a new Celebration wine & beer garden, pampering, cheerleaders and all kinds of fun surprises along the route.
Team up with your friends or family or ride solo!
